do you ever paint realism? I'm thinking of what you are already doing, but kind of without the twist of your style with the slight warps of unrealistic things? I can't really explain, hope you understand... but since you're taking requests, I challenge you to try and make a "realistic" portrait! I would love to see what you would do with it, as I am absolutely astounded by your work and you inspire me a lot! pleeeeeease? :)
I understand what you mean :) I used to draw and paint in a more realistic fashion (or at least I tried), but everything I did felt very literal and quite cheesy, like I had painted it dead… Then I started playing around with deformation and strange colours and things just clicked. I would be a challenge for sure to make a portrait without my little warps… But I like playing outside of my comfort zone, so I accept :)
this isn't so much an ask as an exclamation, your work is incredibly sensitive and absolutely stunning. really mature and quietly some of the most lovely stuff i've seen.
